ICT Education Assistant – Full Time

Due to the popularity of our Educational Service, Ark ICT are looking to expand their Education Team. Since January 2019, we have been creating innovative services for both our education customers and the general public, through classroom delivery, CPD and holiday clubs with a wide variety of hardware. Through our Stem Ambassador status we now offer education services nationally. As a result, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Education Team early 2020.

Purpose of the Job

We are seeking someone with a passion for computing, who will be able to teach the subject within our customer base. The successful candidate will lead computing lessons within our schools, ensuring a high quality delivery of the curriculum.

We are therefore looking for someone who has, or would be willing to develop, a sound understanding of the primary computing curriculum. Alongside this, it would be desirable if they have experience of teaching or working with children or show a willingness and ability to do so. This job would be ideally suited to someone who has experience in a role of a Teaching Assistant or Higher Level Teaching Assistant, with a passion in Computing. Full training will be given.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To work collaboratively with our Education Team to deliver the computing national curriculum within the classroom.
  • Plan and prepare lessons with full guidance from the Education Team, participating in all stages of the planning cycle, including in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/work plans.
  • Develop and prepare resources for learning activities in accordance with lesson plans and in response to pupil needs and Ofsted/Curriculum development.
  • Motivate and progress pupils’ learning by using clearly structured, interesting teaching and learning activities.
  • Be aware of and support all pupils, ensuring all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Use behaviour management strategies, in line with the school’s policy and procedures, to contribute to a purposeful learning environment and encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others.
  • Upholding both Ark and site safeguarding requirements.
  • Clean driving license.
