Pete Clayton - Senior Support Technician
Work Experience:
I started off my IT career working at the school where I was doing my GNVQ and A Levels, in between studying I was helping the network manager with rebuilding PC’s and installing software.
When I finished school I got a job working as the IT technician at a primary school in Stamford which is where I first became aware of Netlinc. During my time at the school I replaced the server with a better unit and introduced interactive whiteboards. After a year I decided it was time to move on and got a full time job working again as a technician but at a secondary school with much more equipment and multiple servers. I helped creating new ICT rooms and installed a Linux web filtering server.
In 2003 I started working for Ramesys supporting in the region of 400 sites including, schools, youth centres and secure units. I was working as an onsite software engineer dealing with any problems that the helpdesk could not sort and that were not obviously hardware related. During my time at Ramesys I helped on the helpdesk, hardware and on the refresh program replacing servers and installing new admin equipment.
I first met Phil at the beginning of 2006, Ark was expanding and looking to take on another engineer. I liked the way that the company worked and the relationship it had with clients it was supporting. I joined in May 2006 bringing experience from previously working in schools and worked with Phil to improve and structure support for both existing and new clients. As the company has expanded I have learned lots of new skills and feel as a team we deliver a comprehensive service.
